To Edit References Directly Inside the Master DWG

  1. Open a master DWG from ProjectWise that contains a reference.
  2. Select one of the following:

    Command: REFEDIT

    Menu: Tools > Xref and Block In-place Editing > Edit Reference In Place

    Ribbon: Insert tab > Reference panel > Edit Reference

  3. In the drawing, select the reference you want to edit in place.

    The reference document is checked out of ProjectWise and AutoCAD will allow modifying it in place.

  4. Edit the reference document as necessary.
  5. At the command line, enter REFCLOSE.

    This exits in-place reference editing mode and checks in the reference document.
